NAWBO Southern Nevada & Its’ Corporate Partner Program
NAWBO Southern Nevada would not be what it is today without the generous support of our Corporate Partners. Our first Corporate Partner was Bank of America in the mid 1990’s. BOA underwrote the printing and mailing of our monthly newsletter in that first year for a whopping $1,000. Today that wouldn't even cover the postage.
The strong alliances formed between our partners and NAWBO members are significant in the stimulating of business within the women owned business sector. When one joins our Corporate Partner Program, they become part of a growing list of area companies that recognize the importance of promoting the business interests of women. Their company is offered the opportunity to interact with these women business owners on a local and worldwide basis and have access to women owned businesses as suppliers and subcontractors.
In addition they have the opportunity to get involved in the planning and development of programs that help increase the viability and success of business which impacts both the local and national economy. We are confident that you will find this partnership to be a strong and mutually beneficial one.
There are very impressive statistics that support our enthusiasm about being women business owners. There are 9.1 million women owned businesses in the United States generating more than $3.6 trillion in sales and employing 27.5 million workers. Across the world, women owned businesses typically comprise one fourth to one third of the business population. Just consider the economic impact created by the businesses women create and the buying power they control.
As a corporate partner you could become involved in Southern Nevada’s most active group of women business owners. You will be introduced to a strong pool of professional resources as well as an economically sound group of potential clients.
Additional Marketing, Leadership and Business Benefits
In addition to meeting the most influential women business owners in a corporate partner capacity and the opportunities this affords, we are pleased to offer additional varied benefits to our participants. Partners are acknowledged and featured in our quarterly newsletter, The Southern Nevada Enterprise, and are listed on our website, www.nawbosnv.org, and on all of our mailings to members.
Partners may elect to be showcased at one monthly luncheon per year, can attend NAWBO events at member prices, and have the opportunity to display their products and services at member luncheons.
Depending on the level of partnership, you will have the opportunity to select from a menu of highly visible activities at our annual Women of Distinction Awards (WODA). You are also invited to offer a nominee for our prestigious Glass Ceiling award and Rising Star award which are presented at the Women of Distinction Awards (WODA). Each year not only are these outstanding women honored, but a portion of our proceeds go to a local charity or are made available as small business loans to new or existing businesses. The 2006 recipient was My Hope Chest; an organization which provides reconstructive breast surgery for women without health insurance. Proceeds for the 2007 WODA will be used for member micro-lending.
A new venture of NAWBO Southern Nevada in 2006 was the first annual Women Mean Business™ Expo held at Mandalay Bay on October 24. This Expo was open to the public, but specifically for members and Corporate Partners to exhibit their products and services. There are event-sponsorship opportunities to all Corporate Partners for the Women Mean Business™ Expo and WODA. Click here to see a menu of opportunities.
In October of 2006, NAWBO Southern Nevada organized the largest political event in Southern Nevada history. This event was hosted by Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc and co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters, in partnership with numerous other local organizations.
So, as you can see, women DO mean business and we hope you decide to partner with us in promoting that intent and the resulting outcome.
As a valued Corporate Partner, there are even more ways for you to interact with our members and prospects, if you elect to do so. Your ideas for strengthening our relationship are encouraged. We would be honored to have you participate with us, and are confident you will be very pleased with the relationship.
